When you walk from the Himmerland Heaths to Halkær – or back – you experience many diverse landscapes. You encounter untouched heath hills, agriculture, forestry, meadows, and several valleys created during the Ice Age. You cross the Vidkær Stream, which has become home to a beaver family – look for signs of it gnawing on trees or bushes by the stream. – Do not go out into the private fields! Especially near the heath area, there is a good chance to see both roe deer, fallow deer, and red deer.
Where the blue route meets the green route, you can follow the green arrow directly east to Halkær or south to Skørbæk.
