Horsdalen

On this short tour, you will explore the beautiful, small valley of Horsdalen, which lies like an oasis in the agricultural landscape. Horsdalen houses the last remnants of the once widespread heathland in the region. The area is a private donation to Veggerby Municipality in 1949 with a clause to preserve the valley's nature for posterity. Today, Horsdalen is a mosaic of heath, grassland, and forest. There is no forestry, and tree growth is left to itself. Over time, the number of dead and fallen trees increases. This benefits the diversity of plants and animals. The heath and grassland are maintained through mowing and the removal of trees. The path is a marked trail that goes over grass, heath, and grassland and through the forest. The terrain is occasionally hilly, and the path is unsuitable for those with mobility impairments.
