The trail at Harlevholm is located at Gl. Harlev, about 10 km west of Aarhus. The marked route is approximately 2.5 km. The trail lies in the Aarhus River Valley. The valley, which is a tunnel valley from the last ice age, is characteristic of East Jutland. Such tunnel valleys have been excavated by meltwater streams that flowed in closed tunnels under the kilometer-thick ice. The water was subjected to great pressure from the ice. Therefore, the meltwater streams could flow uphill with great force or, as here, carve deep valleys in the substrate.
