Jydelejet

The Jydelejet north of Klinteskoven is a gently rounded valley that, with scattered groups of beech, juniper, and other bushes, cuts into the landscape behind the cliff. Livestock have grazed the area for centuries, thereby removing nutrients and only sporadically replenishing a bit. The chalk lies just beneath the surface, which means there is a very large number of different and rare plants here, including orchids. A beautiful route is to walk down through Jydelejet to the edge of the cliff. Continue south along the cliff edge and enjoy a magnificent view from Lille Taler and the remains of Store Taler, which slipped into the sea in January 2007. Follow the path past Hylledals Slugt, where impressive amounts of clay, sand, and chalk are washed out every year with the rain along the narrow gorge to the beach. The journey through Klinteskoven allows you to take in all the impressions.
