Tranum-Fosdal Hiking Route

The route is a varied round trip of 11 km. Along the way, the route passes by Jammerbugt's highest point, Bavnehøj 83.4 m above sea level, and through Fosdalen with Vor Frue Kilde. The way back to Tranum goes via the edge of the old coastal slope Lien, where the views are abundant. The route descends into Langdalen, which has given its name to Langdal Plantage. Langdalen is narrow, deep, and intimate.

The route is signposted in both directions, so there is no need to carry a map. Map tables have been set up along the route at shortcuts. The route predominantly runs on natural paths. Allow 3-4 hours for the trip.

Tranum-Fosdal is part of the Hærvejens Perler, which are hiking circuits linked to the Hærvejen in particularly scenic areas. The hiking routes are to be certified and therefore have high hiking quality.

The route has been established as a collaboration between Tranum Village Council, Jammerbugt Municipality, and Nature Agency Thy.
