Visit the Skelsnæs Pavilion and enjoy the journey through the historic great forest by Søholt Manor. However, the beautiful golden age pavilion is not the only attraction on the route; if you continue your journey eastwards, you will reach the popular picnic area at the Pumping Station and the historic Hejrede Rampart.
The entire route, including the 3 attractions, is just under 10 km. If you prefer to focus on the Skelsnæs Pavilion, the trip is only about 4.5 km. There is parking at the Pumping Station, so you may also choose to start your trip there.
Søholt Great Forest borders Søndersø and is a fantastic natural area with high biodiversity and many rare plant and animal species. The forest was purchased in 2019 by Aage V. Jensen Nature Foundation. The eastern part of the route goes through Kårup Vænge by Hejrede Lake.
