Bunken Klitplantage - hiking route Blue route

The hiking route starts either from the parking lot at Militærvej/Råbjergvej (the nearest address is (opposite) Råbjergvej 73, 9982 Ålbæk) or from Bunken Station.

The route runs on both small paths and forest roads, taking you through the central part of Bunken Klitplantage. The plantation is relatively light with many pine stands of various ages. You pass the highlight "Flagbakken" from where Dannebrog was flown when King Chr. X was heading to his villa in Skagen, past the idyllic forest lake "Tudsehav" and past "Sperrbatterie Aalbæk Bucht," which is a German defense installation from World War II.

If you would like to reach open natural areas, you can make a small detour to the west just before Flagbakken to Hvideklit and when you reach Milevejen a slightly longer detour to Urmagersletten and possibly Råbjerg Mile, where you will also find a shelter for overnight stay.

There is a picnic table set at the parking lot, by Tudsehav, at Lillesø, and at Bamsepladsen right by Bunken Station, there is a fire hut, water, a compost toilet, and the possibility for an overnight stay in a tent.

There is a (not marked) wheelchair-friendly version of this route, where you do not go out on the hilly small paths but still go through the forest and out to Tudsehav.
