Søftendalen

Søftendalen is a beautiful natural area (especially a meadow) on the outskirts of Søften and Hinnerup. The area is grazed by livestock, which helps keep the area open for the benefit of animals and plants. The valley is landscape-wise exciting and beautiful, and there is also a rich animal and plant life. Part of the area is owned by Favrskov Municipality, but a large part is privately owned.

Access to the area can be made from the industrial area in Hinnerup or from the field road that starts at the traffic light intersection in Søften. There is also a trail system that originates from the meadow in Hinnerup, as well as a path that connects the area with the forest area at Himmerigskoven. In the middle of the meadow area, there is an information board that describes the area.

In Søftendalen, there is a large number of typical meadow species such as common stonecrop, low scorzonera, buttercup, sweet grass, common cat's foot, golden samphire, common milk-wort, and hillstar. In addition, there are also the more rare orchids, hill bellflower and spotted orchids.
