The long barrows at Lindeskov

In and around Hestehave Forest, there is a large concentration of ancient relics from the Neolithic period, around 3500 B.C.

The settlements have probably been located around the lake area, while the mounds have been situated a little further back in the landscape. It is very atmospheric to walk among the old relics along mowed small grass paths in the forest and imagine the living conditions of previous generations. A farm road leads up to Denmark's longest preserved long barrow, measuring a full 168 m. It was originally bordered by 126 edge stones. About 200 meters further along the farm road, a path leads west at the forest edge to an Iron Age burial site that is not visible in the terrain, a stone grave in a mound, as well as 2 long barrows and a round barrow.

There is parking available a couple of hundred meters from the main road - shortly after the house.
