Nyborg can thank its history as a fortress town for the string of small and large green oases that encircle the city center. A walk around the historical ramparts is a time travel through the medieval, Renaissance, and absolute monarchy fortress. A journey that spans more than 800 years of history. Palisades, moats, bastions, watchtowers, and gates. The route was developed by East Funen Museums in collaboration with Nyborg Local Historical Archive, Danish Hiking Association, and Nyborg Municipality as part of the project Historical Hikes with support from the Nordea Foundation.
