Red Heart Path is a marked hiking trail that runs through several forests in the eastern part of Svendborg city, past the idyllic and historical Christiansminde Beach, and offers several nice views over Svendborg Sound. The route is 10 km long and challenging. The route is only signposted in one direction – counterclockwise – to ensure that the energy lasts for the most difficult parts of the route. The terrain is mixed and can be loose. The route features steep and longer ascents. The green, blue, and red heart paths were created in collaboration between the Heart Association Svendborg, Svendborg Municipality, and Svendborg Mountain Bike Club. Green is the easiest, blue is of medium difficulty, and red is the most challenging.
