Route in Sølsted bog

The open areas of the bog are associated with characteristic birds such as the green-winged teal and the common snipe, and among the small birds, the yellow wagtail, the red-backed shrike, and the grasshopper warbler can be mentioned. The song of the latter sounds like a whirring sewing machine.

Large areas have over time grown into willow and birch thickets. Here, among others, the woodlark and the bearded tit breed, and if one wants to hear the nightingale's trill, Sølsted Mose is one of the best locations in Southwest Jutland.

A newer breeding bird is the crane, which after a couple of years of hesitation bred in the bog for the first time in 2007.

There is a public toilet at the rest area on the opposite side of Highway 11, near the entrance to the bog.
