Mølleåstien - lower run

The tour follows the Mølleåen and the nature areas closest to it. The tour can take place on foot, but you can also cycle on most of the route. For example, you can take the S-train to Farum St and walk to Strandmøllen/Strandvejen, from where there is a bus to, for example, Klampenborg station. Or go the other way.

If you're up for it, the tour can start at Ølstykke station, from where there is also a hiking route along the upper course of the Mølleåen to Farum. Find the route on Udinaturen.dk.

From Farum lake towards Øresund

From Fiskebækbroen, the route goes south of Furesø along the edge of the Nørreskoven (not a bike path) and Frederiksdal Skov. From here, one follows a dug canal to Lyngby Sø and through Lyngby Åmose, which is managed by Lyngby Taarbæk Municipality. After passing Lyngby Hovedgade, the route continues along the Mølleåen through the historic mill villages: Fuglevad, Brede, Ørholm, and Ravnholm, which also has local trains. The route then follows the remarkable tunnel valley of the Mølleåen, formed during the Ice Age, along the southern border of the Ravnholm forest. After passing the tunnel under the Helsingør motorway, one continues on the path above the steep slopes of the Mølleåen to the old mill villages Stampen and Rådvad. The last stretch towards Øresund goes through a peculiar alder swamp and Jægersborg Dyrehave, and the tour ends on Strandvejen by Øresund.
