Blokhus Dune Plantation - Red route

The red hiking trail is 1.7 kilometers long and is located in Kirkesande, which is the part of Blokhus Klitplantage that is north of Aalborgvej. The route runs through Kirkesande's very varied terrain with low mountain pines and closed spruce forests in the lower areas between the dunes, along with groups of oak trees. The route goes around the highest parts of Kirkesande, but you can take a detour and climb to the top, for example to the dune top in the middle of Kirkesande on the eastern section of the route. Here you can see over the summer house roofs and get a glimpse of the sea. Kirkesande is also a dog forest, so if you walk this route, your dog can run free without a leash. If you have a stroller or pram with you, this route is also ideal. There are parking spaces on Aalborgvej and Gateway Blokhus.
