Rosengaardstien

It is a seven km long trip through the wetland, past Vigersted and Kværkeby and through the forest areas Høed Skov and Magleholm Skov.

You can, for example, park at Vigersted Church, at Kværkeby Bird Reserve on Bjergvej 77 or at the fire hut Bananen at Bjergvej 108.

Rosengårdsstien is named after Rosengården, which is located in the eastern part of Kværkeby. Throughout history, Rosengården has had land holdings on the east side of Kværkeby. The estate can be traced back to around 1340 when it was called Kværkebygaard. At that time, it was under the lordship of Ringsted Monastery.

After the Reformation, the royal power took over Rosengården. Later, it came into private ownership. Its current name is derived from one of the former owners, the noble family Tetze von dem Rosengarten.

The current main building is from 1869 and was remodeled in 1941.
