In the southern part of Ringsted Municipality, near Vetterslev, lies Råen Forest. The forest is a private forest that belongs to Sørup Avlsgård. Råen is beautifully located down by the Suså valley. The forest is rich in ancient monuments in the form of round barrows from the past (a total of 14 round barrows).
There is no parking lot by the forest. Therefore, it is best to either walk to the forest from the town of Vetterslev - or to take a bike. It is 2.2 km from the town to the forest along Skovmarksvej. The last stretch of the road is a private gravel road.
Remember that in private forests it is only allowed to walk on forest roads and designated paths.
