The forests around Frijsenborg Castle near Hammel are rich in changing nature with many opportunities for experiences. A walk through the upper part of the Granslev valley leads through Pøt Mølle Skov, past Marks Stigs spring to Lystskoven, where you cross Granslev Å. You can then walk back again through Frijsendal Bakker.
Immediately north of the parking lot at Kragelundvej, Frijsenborg Estate has wild boar in the forest, in the meadow, and around Pukkeldammen. The wild boars root in the ground and in this way help to create space for the rejuvenation of the trees. If you walk over the grid, you are inside the wild boars' area, and if you come during the period when they have piglets, you should be particularly careful about how you move around. The wild boars must not be fed.
