Brede Å winds through the nearly 200-meter-wide river valley. In the 1990s, the majority of the river's course between Løgumkloster and Bredebro was remeandered to restore the natural watercourse. In Brede Å, both salmon and sea trout spawn, and the river valley is home to a rich variety of wildlife. Here you might be fortunate enough to encounter the black woodpecker.
