The stage begins in the middle of Gredstedbro, close to the train station, hotel, and shopping opportunities, but quickly takes you out into the peaceful river valley, where the path closely follows the Kongeåen. The last part of the route goes along gravel roads north to Jernvedlund and continues from there straight south to Hjortlund Church. Here, there are picnic tables and a unique view over the river valley. Parking is available at the church.
The Kongeåstien is a primitive but clearly marked hiking trail that stretches a total of 68.5 kilometers. The route is divided into 10 stages and 5 round trips, each offering unique nature experiences and exciting cultural history along the Kongeåen. Read more at www.kongeaastien.dk.
