The round trip is 4 km. There is the possibility of extending the route by about 1 km by taking the path to the observation platform at the northern part of the reserve. The route runs through the northernmost part of Tved Klitplantage along the edge of Hanstholm Wildlife Reserve – Denmark's largest wilderness. Here you can experience both dune plantations and the view over Savbjerg, which is a high-lying heath area in the wildlife reserve.

At the southernmost point of the route, there is an observation tower with a view over the core areas of Hanstholm Wildlife Reserve. Here, you have the opportunity to see cranes, red deer, and other large animals that live in the reserve. The detour to the northernmost point of the route leads to an observation platform, which among other things provides a good opportunity to see some of the reserve's many red deer.
