Eskov - Urhøje

The route starts and ends at the parking lot by Eskov Strandpark. From here, the journey takes you through the forest and out to the fjord where the ascent to the burial mounds of Urhøje begins.

Urhøje is the highest point of Nordsalling from where there is a fantastic view over the Limfjord to Vesthimmerland. The heath hills at Urhøje are a unique natural area in Salling and several rare plant species can be found here. From Urhøje, the route returns along the same path, but at the forest, it continues along the beach back to the parking lot.

The trip is challenging as there are many climbs along the way, especially on the way over the hills up to Urhøje. Be aware that the hills can be slippery in wet weather.

The route is marked with red arrows and dots. The dots indicate that you are on the right path and should continue straight ahead.
