The hiking trail between Randers and Silkeborg

NOTE: In 2025, parts of the Træksti will be periodically closed as we work on the major Gudenåsti project, which will establish a path from source to fjord. The Træksti follows the Gudenå River between Randers and Silkeborg. It is a unique opportunity to experience the Gudenå River up close. However, the river – and the path – is dynamic, and when there is a lot of water in the Gudenå River, the Træksti is flooded. Generally, the Træksti is most passable in spring and early summer. In some places, the Træksti is elevated on wooden paths, allowing for a unique walk right by the river. In other places, it is very inaccessible for most of the year – for example, between Ulstrup and Langå. However, there are efforts underway in several areas to make it more accessible or to indicate alternative routes where the water level is often too high.

Along the Træksti, there are traces of the pram pulling culture. Primarily pram pulling inns such as Svostrup Kro, Kongensbro Kro, Ans Kro, and Fladbro Kro.

The Træksti is also part of the Gudenåsti, which is a path along the Gudenå River from Voervadsbro in the south to Randers in the north.
