Step 2 Gudenåstien

On this stretch, you primarily move through Uldum Kær - a 1200 ha large contiguous wetland area between Tørring and Uldum, which is traversed by the Gudenå River. The large meadow areas give rise to a particularly valuable plant and animal life.

With respect for nature, Uldum Kær has been made accessible to visitors. There are signposted pathways and wooden bridges through particularly wet parts of the wetland. However, it can be wet - stay informed at oplevgudenaa.dk/oversvoemmelse.

There are bird towers from which it is possible to observe the large number of bird species that reside in Uldum Kær.

Uldum Kær is located close to the village of Uldum, where you can visit Uldum Mølle Museum. A signposted path (yellow) leads from the wetland into the town.

TRANSPORT AND ACCOMMODATION

You can stay overnight at Tørring Camping and in shelters in Uldum Kær. The shelters can be found at the parking lot on Kærvejen, where there is also a bird tower and toilet facilities.

NOTE! It is not possible to book the two shelters. It is first-come, first-served. Be aware that you will have to share the shelter if there is space for others who also wish to stay overnight. Additionally, in Uldum you will find Karensdal B&B.
