Stage 10 Gudenåstien

On this stage from Skyttehusets Outdoor Camp to Silkeborg city, you walk delightfully on forest paths. Between Skyttehusets Outdoor Camp on the south side and Ålekroen on the north side, a small solar-powered ferry operates during the summer months, allowing you to pass the lakes here. In Svejbæk on the north side, there is a train connection to Aarhus and Silkeborg (Svejbæk Station).

On the trip, you will pass by Slåen Sø, which is Denmark's cleanest, and a short detour from the Gudenåstien will lead you to the viewpoint Kongestolen and Scandinavia's tallest tree - a Douglas fir standing over 54 meters tall.

You will pass Klüvers Kanal, which leads into Avnsø - also known as Brillerne due to the lake's shape - and Almind Sø, which is also one of Denmark's cleanest and a popular swimming lake.

On this stage, you will also go through Vådbundsarboretet - a demonstration forest where the public can see trees and shrubs from Europe, Asia, and North America. All the trees and shrubs are selected based on the criterion that they should be able to grow in the same moist soil found at this location by Gudenåen.

Not far from the Gudenåstien, you can visit AQUA - Aquarium and Zoo and learn much more about the Gudenåen.

And then you approach Silkeborg, Denmark's Outdoor Capital with Museum Jorn and Museum Silkeborg and the harbor and city with everything that comes with it - including a train station.
