Kanosejlads Tim Å

The Self-Governing Institution Tim Mose has collaborated with the Village Cluster VestRum to establish two canoe bridges in Tim Å/Tim Enge with the aim of improving access to the river for canoeists.

The upper stretch from Torstedvej (between Torsted and Ørnhøj) to Vandmøllevej (between Torsted and Tim) is challenging with dense vegetation and fast currents. It may be a good idea to bring a saw if you venture out on this part. The stretch from Vandmøllevej to Åvænget in Tim is a bit easier, but just as scenic. At the railway bridge in Tim, you will find the first of the new canoe bridges. Here, there is a large shelter for families and parking for canoe trailers. From the bridge, everyone can paddle the last stretch of the river.

Rules:

Canoeing is allowed on the entire watercourse.

Canoeing is only allowed with small vessels such as rowing boats, kayaks, canoes, and similar without the use of a motor.

Canoeing can only take place from June 16 to February 28 (29) from 7 AM to sunset, but not later than 8 PM.

The right to canoeing does not grant access to trespass on others' property beyond what is permitted under the Nature Protection Act.

Practical info

• You can go ashore either at: Tim Kirkevej, where the river crosses the road, and there is also a shelter. Stadil Fjord at Stadilvej, where you will find another canoe bridge with parking and a table-bench set.
• Accessibility: Ramps without railings at the canoe bridges. Other places have steep, slippery slopes. Not suitable for those with mobility issues.
• Parking: At both canoe bridges, including trailer parking at the bridge in Tim.
• Overnight stays: Shelter at the canoe bridge in Tim (space for a large family) and at Alrum by Stadil Fjord (with toilet and water).
• Special conditions: The water level in Tim Enge can be so low that it may be necessary to drag the canoe. Canoeing on Stadil Fjord is not recommended with winds over 5 m/s.
