Special conditions
One must be aware that as soon as you are outside Nysted Nor, you are in open sea. It is only with northern winds that you can find a little shelter along the coast. The trip to Rødsand can only be completed in very calm weather conditions, as the return trip from Rødsand is completely open to all wind directions.
Protection and consideration
One must be aware that almost all small islands in the entire area are nature protection areas. The island of Lindholm is protected, and landing is not allowed. Access is prohibited on the land tongue Hyldekrog from March 1 – July 15. It is not allowed to land on Rødsand from March 1 – September 30. It is not permitted to sail between Sandager harbor and Errindlev harbor from March 1 – July 15.
