Kayak card - Limfjord

From the Rowing Club, the route takes you past Thisted center with the harbor. There is traffic coming in and out of the harbor, so be aware of other vessels and possible wake waves. Row further along the coast. In some places, it is quite shallow. First, you pass Thisted Camping Site. Shortly after, you come to Synopal Harbor - an old industrial harbor that now houses "Thy Cablepark". After that, the journey continues towards Eshøj. Here, there is an opportunity to rest at the shelter area and possibly take a trip into the very varied tree planting in Eshøj Plantation. About 3 km further ahead, you reach Mallestrand, where there are benches and tables to rest at and a public toilet. The next 10 km are rich in birds with various species depending on the season. Lønnerup fjord can be reached at low tide through the dam. Alternatively, one can take their kayak up in the northern corner of Hovsør dam and row a short trip in the fjord before the journey continues. From Hovsør, the route goes past Hovsør Røn and Arup dam, which separates Østerild Fjord from Limfjord. Østerild Fjord is part of Vejlerne (a nature reserve).
