Nørreåen: Rindsholm – Fladbro approx. 40 km

The Nørreåen is the least trafficked part of the Gudenå system, making it a great stretch if you're looking for tranquility. Motorboat sailing is prohibited, and there are no lakes to cross. Be aware that facilities are scarce. Get an overview of landing spots, toilets, etc. at oplevgudenaa.dk.

Compared to the Gudenåen, the Nørreåen is narrower with less current, which makes sailing against the current easier than in the Gudenåen. The Nørreåen flows through a wide river valley to Fladbro, where it merges with the Gudenåen about 700 meters further and continues to Randers.
The Nørreåen is a very special natural area characterized by meadows, bog areas, and narrow plots of land down to the river. The river only descends about 4 meters in total, which is why the meadows are often flooded. The trip can start from Rindsholm near Gl. Århusvej just south of Viborg.
