Kayak card - Limfjord

The tour around Kilen can be started at Struer Marina, but if the sluice is not open, it will be necessary to carry over at Holstebrovej. Alternatively, you can park at the rest area at the north end of the dam or in the area at the south end of the dam and launch directly into Kilen from there. The coast alternates between reed forests, grazed meadows, slopes, and small woods. Paddling along the south coast, there is initially reed forest where many water birds hide. Soon you pass a viewpoint. Here it is possible to land and enjoy the view over the eastern part of Kilen. Further in, the landscape changes to grazed hills with scattered trees. On the north coast at Resenbog Plantation, there is a campfire site with a grill grate. There is also a table with a bench. Here you can take a break and cook over the fire. If you are brave enough to stay overnight, there is a shelter on top of the hill above the campfire site. Just before the dam, you come to another reed forest. Here you will also find a rest area with toilets.
