Sailing with SUP and pedal boats

Sailing is allowed on approximately 800 meters of Vidå from July 16 to February 29, from sunrise to sunset.

It has become popular to sail with Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP). There is one stretch of waterway in Tønder Municipality where you are allowed to sail with Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP), namely on approximately 800 meters of Vidå in Tønder Town. On the same stretch, you may also sail with pedal boats.

Below you can read about the rules you should be aware of for sailing with SUP and pedal boats. By the Vigen at Sparekassebroen, a sign has been set up that informs about the rules.

- You may sail on the stretch between the railway bridge east of Tønder and Søndergadebroen.

- You may sail from July 16 to February 29 – from sunrise to sunset.

- There may be a maximum of 15 units on the water at any time (total number of SUP and pedal boats).

- You may only launch SUP into the water and take it out in the northeastern part of the cove at Sparekassebroen.

- On a SUP, you must stay at least 3 meters from the western bank on the stretch between the cove at Sparekassebroen and Søndergadebroen (the bank where houses are located).

- It is not allowed to rent out SUP for use on Vidå.
