Store Jyndevad Mill is, for many, the obvious place to launch the canoe into the water if the trip is on Sønderå. Here the river winds through a bird-rich and very beautiful river valley that extends all the way to Rens. In Rens, you will need to paddle down a nearly 500-meter-long stone rapids, which has been made as a passage for the rare fish, the snebel.
From the confluence with Gammelå, the watercourse changes character to a straight canal with high riverbanks on both sides.
Length: 14.1 km
Good starting points: St. Jyndevad by the bridge, the road bridge at Rens Damager, and the road bridge in Holmgård.
