The mountains of Monserrat are easy to recognize from far away. They have this jagged shape, due to particular eriosion of the conglomerate stone it is built of. If you get closer, these shapes might look familiar to you. The famous cloisters of Meteora in Greece are built on similar rocks, with a similar shape.
"Montserrat" literally means "jagged mountain" in Catalan.
