Our last point on the walking route, Tibidabo is the highest mountain of the previously discussed area.
Tibidabo is a hill that towers high above Barcelona. It is the highest mountain of the Serra de Collserola mountain range. The view over the Catalan capital is truly spectacular from here! At the top lies the Temple de Sagrat Cor, the church of the Sacred Heart, designed by Enric Sagnier. The church is comparable in architectural style and location to the Sacré Coeur in Paris. At the peak, a large statue of Jesus watches over the church.
But Tibidabo also attracts more tourists with the amusement park that the hill hosts. It is the oldest amusement park in Spain and the second oldest in Europe. Some of the old, nostalgic attractions are still in use. You shouldn't expect super-fast or spectacular rides here. The amusement park is more focused on families with children. The symbol of the park is the ride l’Avió, a red plane that glides along the edge of the cliff. There is also a Ferris wheel, a log flume, a roller coaster, a haunted hotel, and a 4D theater, in short, more than enough to experience here!
