Albóns is a Spanish municipality in the comarca of Bajo Ampurdán in the province of Girona, Catalonia, located in the northern part of the comarca in the contact zone between the plain of Ampurdán and the Montgrí massif. The place and the church are documented from the 12th century with the forms Alburnos, Alburnis, and Albornis. The town's castle is mentioned in documents from the 13th century. In the early 14th century, the count of Empúries ordered the population to be fortified.
