Peramola

Peramola is a municipality located in the province of Lleida, Catalonia, Spain. The population was 377 as of 2006. It includes the nuclei of Castellebre, Cortiuda, Nuncarga and Tragó. [1]​

One of the first examples of human presence in these territories, and certainly extremely exceptional, corresponds to the cave paintings of the Roca dels Moros. Communicated its existence, in 1969, by F. Riart Jou, M. Bach Porredón and J. Bach Vila to Luis Diez Coronel, who would publish the first data two years later, it is a cavity with abstract crencial manifestations of the Neolithic groups, known as Schematic Art. Digital strokes, circular or ringed, and more complex geometric shapes constitute the essential content of these enigmatic samples of the religiosity of those producing groups. Its value as an expression of human intellectual capacity was ratified with its inclusion in the World Heritage by UNESCO, the highest award awarded to a human work, under the conventional administrative nomenclature of Prehistoric Art of the Mediterranean Arc of the Iberian Peninsula. Stations with similar art are located in Bellver de Cerdanya, Vilanova de Meyá, Os de Balaguer, Albí, Cogul itself, among other municipalities of Lleida. .
