Lake San Mauricio is a Spanish lake in the Pyrenees enlarged with a small dam located in the municipality of Espot, in the national park of Aiguas Tortas and Lake San Mauricio, province of Lleida, Catalonia.
It is located at 1910 m altitude, at the bottom of a glacial cirque. It receives the waters of the rivers and torrents of Ratera, Portarró and Subenuix, while its emissary, the Escrita river, drains the Espot valley to the Noguera Pallaresa. [1] It is located within a cirque of glacial origin in the lake region of Los Encantados. From its waters emerges the river Escritá, which flows into the reservoir of the Torrassa, about 14 km, in the Noguera Pallaresa.
