The Graells Gate or Santa María Gate is one of the access gates that was part of the wall surrounding the town of Cardona.
The Viscount of Cardona, Ramón Folc VI, began an extensive renovation of the castle and town walls, being constructed in the second half of the 14th century and definitively completed in 1420.[3] Once the town was finished, access was through four main gates located according to the cardinal points.
