The castle of Suria is located on the highest part of a hill that overlooks the Cardener River within the old town of Suria, in Bages.
The ancient castle of Suria began to be built in the 8th century by the Dukes of Barcelona, to whom it belonged. It served to protect the salt route that was transported from Cardona to Manresa. From the 12th-13th centuries, the keep is preserved, which has been located within the building in the later rehabilitation that was done. Originally, the castle of Suria was part of the border line with the Saracens, which passed through the Cardener River.
