Slottet i Suria ligger på den højeste del af en bakke, der dominerer floden Cardener inden for den gamle del af Suria i Bages.
Det gamle slot i Suria begyndte at blive bygget i det 8. århundrede af hertugerne af Barcelona, som det var underlagt. Det blev brugt til at beskytte vejen for salt, der blev transporteret fra Cardona til Manresa. Fra det 12.-13. århundrede er herrestårnet bevaret, som nu er placeret inden i bygningen efter den efterfølgende rehabilitering. Oprindeligt var slottet i Suria en del af grænselinjen mod saracenerne, som gik langs floden Cardener.
