The watchtower of the Guimerá castle in the Catalan region of Urgel is the most significant remnant of the ancient castle, of which a part of the wall also remains. It has become the most emblematic building of Guimerá.
The castle was built in the 11th century by Christians during the Reconquista. In 1971, it was transferred to the ownership of the Lleida Provincial Council, but in recent centuries it has suffered significant looting, and today only ruins remain.
