Torredembarra Station

Torredembarra is a railway station located in the province of Tarragona, autonomous community of Catalonia. Currently, Media Distancia trains operated by Renfe and the RT2 Cercanías line of the Camp de Tarragona stop here.

The station is located at kilometer point 13.6 of the Iberian gauge railway line that connects Valencia with San Vicente de Calders at an altitude of 7 meters.[1] This line resets its mileage in Tarragona based on the old route between Tarragona and Barcelona. This station is famous for the accident that occurred between an Euromed and a Catalunya-Express in July 2002. The Regional train was merging onto the main track towards Barcelona after making a stop, but at the same time, an Euromed coming from Alicante was passing on the same track, causing a serious collision with 2 deaths and 96 injuries.
