The Museum of Miniatures and Microminiatures of Besalú is a museum of miniatures located in Besalú. It is located in the building of the old textile factory of Cal Coro, located next to the monastery of Sant Pere. It exhibits more than 2,000 pieces of miniatures and microminiatures made by artists from around the world organized thematically. It is one of the most complete and varied collections in Europe and the first of its kind in Catalonia. The space has a total area of 400 m² and is enabled for people with reduced mobility and hypoacoustics.
The museum was created and founded in 2007 by Girona jeweller Lluís Carreras i Cristòfol, who is the current director. Carreras, fond of collecting miniatures since he was young, in 1999 bought and restored the old Cal Coro factory building in a rationalist style, with the idea of opening a space to the public to exhibit his personal collection. On August 17, 2007 Lluís Carreras presented the museum and on August 25, 2007 it was inaugurated.
