The Old Church, also known as the Assumption or St. Mary, was the parish church of Pont de Suert until 1955, when the New Church was built. Currently, the building of the church houses the Collection of the Museum of Sacred Art of Ribagorça. In the small square in front, there is the old medieval cemetery, now buried, and the Abbatial Palace of the abbots of Santa Maria de Lavaix, a 15th-century building, where the church's bell tower is located, a simple structure with a square tower, four windows, and a pyramidal roof. The bells only ring on the Night of Saint John, June 23, during the descent of the Falles from the Faro. It has two original altars, dedicated to St. Anna and St. Sebastian. The most famous work is the Virgin of the Mola, highly revered in the village, from the 13th century and polychrome, coming from the hermitage of the Mola, in Buira, Aragón.
