Flower Bridge

The Bridge of Flowers crosses the Túria Garden in the city of Valencia and accommodates both motorized traffic and pedestrians.
As its name suggests, its most obvious characteristic is the decoration of flowers, distributed along both sides, between the roadway and the pedestrian walkways. The planters that house the flowers are designed using white mosaics, in the style of Santiago Calatrava. The flowers contained in them are maintained year-round and are changed four or more times depending on the season or celebration. During the visit of Pope Benedict XVI in 2006, thousands of white and yellow flowers were placed there, imitating the Vatican flag, an action that received criticism from opposition parties, which claimed that it was unclear and not communicated to the public the cost represented by that decoration.
