The Marjal de Pego-Oliva Natural Park is a nature reserve in the municipalities of Pego and Oliva on the east coast of Spain. The area has been designated as wetland under the Ramsar Convention. The reserve covers 1,248 hectares and consists of marshland and surrounding rice fields. This combination creates a habitat for a number of internationally endangered wetland birds. Species such as whiskered tern, twany pipit, purple heron, avocet, water rail, night heron, cattle egret, little egret, and black-headed reed warbler breed in the area. Additionally, the marble duck occasionally breeds here. Annually, bee-eaters, large numbers of salmon terns, and black ibises forage in the area. The combination with surrounding orange groves leads to the presence of, among others, hoopoe, Eurasian nightjar, and red-backed shrike.
