The Sierra del Cid [1] is a mountain formation in the province of Alicante, Spain, located between the municipalities of Petrel and Monforte del Cid, covering an approximate area of 51 km². It is part of the Protected Landscape of the Sierra del Cid and Maigmó, along with other municipalities.
Broadly speaking, it can be said that it forms a massif with a horizontal summit, at the ends of which we find the two peaks of the sierra: the "Silla del Cid," which is shaped like a horse saddle, and "Cumbre del Cid." The northern face is very steep, with walls and cliffs.
