The Oyambre Natural Park is a natural area on the western coastal zone of Cantabria. It covers 5,758 hectares, encompassing territories of the municipalities of Comillas, San Vicente de la Barquera, Udías, Valdáliga, and Val de San Vicente. The site was declared a natural park on November 21, 1988, as a culmination of a process driven by the ecological and popular movement that had been fighting since the 1970s against urban development projects that threatened the dunes and the Oyambre beach.
