The San Vicente estuary is an estuary located on the west coast of Cantabria, in the municipality of San Vicente de la Barquera, being the mouth of the Escudo and Gandarilla rivers into the Cantabrian Sea. It has an area of 390.3 hectares and a perimeter of 31.6 kilometers, with an intertidal area of 77%. A large part of its surface is occupied by the San Vicente marshes. For some time now, it has been experiencing a certain degree of tourist pressure.
