The Papagayo beaches are a series of beaches located on the Costa del Rubicón on the southern side of the Canary Island of Lanzarote. The beaches lie a few kilometers east of the tourist center of Playa Blanca. This area played an important role during the conquest of the island in the 15th century.
The seven white beach sections, ranging from 100 to 400 meters long, are separated by natural lava rock and are suitable for bathing. The beaches are named: Playa de Afe, Playa de Mujeres, Playa Pozo, Playa de la Cera, Playa de Papagayo, Playa Caleta del Congrio, and Playa de Puerto Muelas.
