On March 25, 1774 , the chapel of the Sagrario de María Santísima de los Dolores of the Church of San Lorenzo Mártir de Cádiz was inaugurated and blessed. The construction was made possible thanks to the donation of all her belongings by the Camarista de la Mare de Déu, María Paula Enríquez, to the Servite Order after her death (8-4-1757).
Since January 17, 1858 it has been the chapel of the Tabernacle of the Parish Church of San Lorenzo in Cadiz.
It has a rectangular plan and houses a Neoclassical altarpiece by Juan Rosado, dated 1879, presided over by the effigy of María Santísima de los Dolores in the central dressing room, in Churriguesque style (corresponding to the previous altarpiece that the chapel had). . This statue was canonically enthroned on September 17, 2011, with the Holy of Holies enthroned at its feet. The altarpiece is crowned by the statue of Crist de l'Amparo, which was returned to its original place after the chapel's restoration between 2009 and 2011.
In the lateral niches of the altarpiece are the statues of Saint Philip Benizio and Saint Peregrino Laziosi.
The Baroque style side altars are dominated by the statues of John the Baptist and Francis Xavier respectively and house other statues and paintings such as Saint Ildefonso, Pastora, Saint Monica and Saint Rita, Saint John of Nepomuk, Saint Joseph and the Virgin Mary . Nurse
There are two 18th-century angels on the side walls of the chapel.
In the lower heart are two golden cornucopias representing a Passion Child and a Nazarene.
The chapel has been reformed and restored several times, the most important of which was the extensive restoration between 2009 and 2011 by the companies JMR (works) and Ars Nova (altars, paintings and sculptures).
